Unimutal members have direct access to the services and advice of risk management professionals who are familiar with the unique risks facing the higher education and research sectors.

Most services are free of charge to members and are designed to leverage the combined knowledge and experience of all members and Unimutual's sector experience. We work with members to improve their risk profiles and performance through sector-specific risk management tools, training, programs, inspections and advice, with the objective of reducing losses which adversely impact research, teaching and learning outcomes.

Vision

The Board's vision is to provide Members with support in risk management initiatives in critical areas such as enterprise risk management, business continuity planning and strategic risk identification and assessment. Such programming will not only assist individual Members to introduce and promote a risk management culture across their organisations, but will also result in better performance across the Mutual, promoting greater underwriting certainty by the Mutual's risk financing partners.

Unimutual recognises that all Members currently face an unprecedented period of operational uncertainty with increasing pressures on financial, capital and human resources. We believe that a mutual approach to the management and financing of risk enables Member institutions to deliver their strategic visions and objectives through the taking of carefully calculated and managed risks.
